Tech Artist / Animator (freelance)

As a freelance Tech Artist / Animator you'll be involved in everything it takes to bring our characters to life in terms of their animated and procedural behaviors.

Our new game is about a field biologist interacting with urban wildlife both mundane and fantastical. Having a mix of familiar animals and more fairytale-esque creatures has led to a wide range of technical and aesthetic challenges so hopefully your background and interests are similarly wide-ranging.

Ultimately our goal is to create moments that feel mesmerizing and weirdly alive. More tangibly that means we're looking for you to help make our characters feel more fleshy, tactile, gooey, and gross.

Here's a few examples of what we're shooting for:

Even though we expect most of our animation to be procedural it's important that you have some experience creating hand-keyed animation since you'll be responsible for making previz animations and workable first pass assets for prototypes. It's fine if hand-keyed animation is not your strong suit since we can easily bring on additional animators to help polish but in early stage prototyping the more you can do yourself the easier it'll be for us to iteratively explore ideas.
